Wonders of North Oman
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MUSCAT
The day begins with a visit to the Great Mosque, one of the most beautiful in the world and which remains a must-visit for all travelers (open every day, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., except Fridays and holidays). Dress Code - Women should wear clothing that covers their arms and legs and covers their head with a scarf. Men must wear a shirt and pants. We will continue with a visit to the Muscat Opera, then we will go to the fish and meat markets, vegetables in Muttrah. Lunch in a fish restaurant. We will then visit the Muttrah souk, a dip in the scents of a thousand and one nights where spices mix with incense. We will then head towards the capital via the Corniche for a photo stop at the Palais du sultan, accompanied by the 16th century Portuguese forts of Jalali and Mirani. Then we will visit the Bait Al Zubair museum for a beautiful exhibition of Omani culture and history.
DAY 2: RAS’AL HADD / 4X4 TURTLES
We will leave in the morning for a trip along the coast, we will cross an OFF ROAD lunar landscape before stopping at the Wadi Al Hilow village, an ocean rock geological structure and a panoramic marvel, as well as at Fins beach. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will stop in Wadi tiwi for a short walk. We will see the irrigation systems (Falaj) and the terrace cultivation system before arriving on the old port of Sur where we will visit the shipyard, as well as the village typical Omani, Ayjah, before reaching Ras al Hadd. Check-in at the Ras al Hadd hotel. After dinner we will head to the beach to observe the nesting habits green turtles.
DAY 3: WADI BANI KHALID
Breakfast then drive to Wadi Bani Khalid with its date palms in loss of sight and its crystalline pools where you can swim. Breakfast in a local restaurant. Depart for the golden sand dunes of Wahiba. Relax on the dunes and enjoy the sunset. We'll spend the night under the stars in a camp in the heart of the desert.
DAY 4: GREEN MOUNTAIN
After breakfast we will leave for the region of Al Dakhiliyah, visit the village of Birket al mouz and the oasis of date palms, we will visit Wadi Maeeden to admire the cliff and we will take the green mountain road to reach an altitude of 2250m where from the canyon of your hotel you can admire the sunset.
DAY 5: JABAL AL AKHDAR - SEEQ - WADI BANI HABIB.
After breakfast we will head to the roof of Oman, the Saiq plateau, accessible from hundreds of years only to donkeys. The view from the terraced gardens is spectacular. A variety of fruits like pomegranate, apricot and lemon are grown here as well as the rose gardens which bloom in April. A place for interesting walks in Wadi Bani Habib, Shrejaya, Al Ain and Aqur. The weather here is cool and dry.
DAY 6: NIZWA, SOUK AL HAMRA, MISFAT
Early departure at 6:30 am towards one of the most beautiful typical markets of Oman, (the cattle market in takes place only on Fridays). Silver market, spice market, Halwa market and its dates. Later we will visit the 17th century Nizwa fort, then we will head to the Al Hamra region where we will visit the Bait Al Safa museum. On the way back we will stop at Misfat Al Abrein, a picturesque village clinging to the hillside of a mountain. As you walk through this beautiful village where time has stood still, you will be moved by the simplicity and kindness of the inhabitants.
DAY 7: WADI BANI AUF, BILLAD SAYT - “GORGEOUS REMOTE VILLAGE”
After breakfast, you will take your suitcases and we will leave towards Billad Sayt, in the Hajars Westerners near Awabi, we will end up in the beautiful Wadi Bani Awf. After a spectacular drive, we will arrive in the beautiful village of Bilad Sayt, where you will have a view impregnable on the palm grove and the terraced gardens. Photo stop at Nakhal Fort and the hot spring. Return to Muscat.
Day 8: MUSCAT
Departure at 7:30 a.m. for a sea trip, a beautiful trip to meet dolphins in the Arabian Sea, then return to the hotel and transfer to the airport.
